Mindoro towns hit by oil leak gets BBM aid

POLA,Oriental Mindoro – Residents affected by the oil spill received various livelihood aid and cash assistance during the visit of President Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos, Jr.

The President together with his cabinet secretaries was greeted by provincial officials led by Governor Humerlito “Bonz” Dolor and Pola Mayor Jennifer Cruz.

President Marcos during his visit on April 15 assured residents and officials here saying, “Hindi namin kayo iiwanan at tutulungan namin kayo sa abot ng aming makakaya hanggang sa matapos ang krisis na ito.”

Among the benefits provided by the President were P20,000 DSWD loan assistance under the program Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS), P10,000 livelihood assistance cashcards under the Pagbangon sa Kabuhayan Program of the Department of Trade and Industry; P3,000 cash assistance under the Agricultural Credit and Policy Council program, seedlings and certified seeds from the Department of Agriculture, 7 motorized banca from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, baking equipment from TESDA.

A ceremonial turn-over was also made for various projects such as P1.1 M livestock for Animal Raisers Association of Socorro, P2.2M – hand tractor, pump and engines under the corn program for farmers association of Bansud and Mahabang Parang, Naujan, P40,000-worth water pump for Pola, Naujan and Pinamalayan; a total of P681,400 pump engines under the Organic for various fishing groups of Bongabong, Naujan, Puerto Galera and Victoria. Livestock, vegetable seeds, and sacks of rice for Pola.

Present during the President’s visit in Pola were Naujan Mayor Joel Teves, Pinamalayan Mayor Aris Baldos, Bansud Mayor Ronaldo Morada, Bulalacao Mayor Ernilo Villas, Gloria Vice Mayor Rambo Alvarez, Baco Mayor Allan Roldan, San Teodoro Mayor Salvador Py and Puerto Galera Vice Mayor Marlon Lopez
