Dolor welcomes 15 nurses, first Mangyan to serve the prov’l hospital

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro – Governor Humerlito “Bonz” Dolor welcomed fifteen newly-passed nurses now serving with the Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital (OMPH) including a member from a Mangyan indigeneous people (IP) group under the Tadyawan tribe. She is a resident of Barangay Bayani, Naujan, this province.

The fifteen nurses included Maries “Riesh” M. Landoni who took their oath with the governor on April 12. They will be working with OMPH with a permanent employment status.

Although there have been registered nurses from the IPs sector, Nurse Riesh is the first IP member to serve with the OMPH under a permanent position.

Nurse Riesh is a consistent honor student since her elementary days at Bayani Elementary School in Naujan until his highschool at Leuteboro National Highschool in Socorro. She finished Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the College of the Holy Spirit in Mendiola, Manila as a scholar of the Alfredo Yuchengco Foundation. She also double majored also as a scholar at the St. Anthony College in Calapan City graduating Bachelor of Seconday Education major in Biological Science. Nurse Riesh said her being a member of the Mangyan tribe has become her inspiration of her educational accomplishment.

After his election in 2019, Governor Humerlito “Bonz” Dolor has advanced for the scholarship of deserving Mangyan scholars  and even providing them employment with the various provincial offices.
